Coming here you undergo your own intimate voyage, and on arrival you are welcomed and settled into comfort, immediately rinsing out the accumulated layer of burn and strain from modern times.
The next thing that happens is the silence and the chance to look dreamily at the natural world here or sit at the hearth of a cosy warm fire, and it does not take long before anxieties turn away and vanish.
The South Reen retreat has been newly designed for the individual, group or families. It's views look over to the sea and up hills and onto cared for woodland, ponds and rivulets, occasionally hares are seen leaping and bounding from the earth. As the sun rises in the southeast part of the country it streams into the windows dashing its sparkling lights against the walls. The air is fragrant and sweet from everything planted and there are plenty of places to stand quietly or wander freely, so you can walk through the land crossing ancient old paths, or climbing the peninsula, to the calling sounds of herring gulls, sliding on the incoming waves then flying out far towards the open silvery sea.
Organic fruit, vegetables and eggs available on request.
